Thanks, Karen (and Nancy!), for the list of new biographies! I am loving “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind” by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer. It makes me hopeful that our energy problems will have creative, Earth-friendly, long-lasting solutions!

Being one of the older “ReaderKidz” I was too old for picturebooks when WTWTA came out. I first recall being aware of the book when I worked as a children’s librarian while going to library school. I was delighted by the humor and Sendak’s ability to show a real kid misbehaving and letting his imagination go wild. I knew I was married to the right guy when Jim gave me a “wild thing” stuffed animal for Christmas one year.
