ReaderKidZ Holiday Countdown – Day 11

Many know Grace Lin as the author/illustrator of a host of wonderful books for young readers, including WHERE THE MOUNTAIN MEETS THE MOON, a 2010 Newbury Honor book, LING AND TING: Not Exactly the Same, a 2011 Geisel Honor book, and the upcoming DUMPLING DAYS (January 2012).  But did you know that Grace also has a shop on Etsy where she sells a limited selection of inkjet prints of illustrations and original paintings from published books and other projects?

Because only a small number of each of Grace’s prints are made available on Etsy, you won’t find today’s giveaway there. But… one lucky person will be selected to win her gorgeous print of Lissy enjoying a good book with friends. Could there be anything better to brighten up your or a loved one’s holiday?

To enter and have a chance to win a Grace Lin print, please leave a comment or contact us at readerkidz at readerkidz dot com. Include GRACE LIN Giveaway in the subject line.

Happy Holidays!

*** Congrats to Heather S. – winner of the Grace Lin print!

My 6-year-old daughter LOVES Grace Lin’s books! We started with Dim Sum for Everyone, moved on to The Ugly Vegetables when my daughter was old enough for longer stories, and now she loves to hear me read the chapter books to her. We’ve read Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, The Year of the Dog, The Year of the Rat, and even an advanced copy of Dumpling Days – all multiple times! She would be thrilled to have a Grace Lin print on her wall!

Grace is one of our favorite children’s authors and her Lissy looks just like our six year old daughter! We’d love to win one of her prints to add to our Grace Lin collection.

My 12 year old (who is a reluctant reader) is reading “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon” for the 2nd time!

I’ve been merrily mailing out copies of The Mountain Meets the Moon to friends and students this year ~ 20 or so this holiday season. Grace Lin’s work is simple and profound. One of my very favorite author/illustrators.

Grace Lin GIVEAWAY
WE love your illustrations and give your books as gifts frequently. I have not broken down and started buying prints (a slippery slope), but would love to display one above the “children’s library shelves” in our home.
Thank you for all your generosity.

Linda

We are big big fans of Grace in our house! I’ve been toying with adding a little reading nook in her room when we make it over this spring from “toddler” to “little girl”. This print would be an amazing addition!

Great book! Love it. Can’t wait for Stages Children’s Theatre in Hopkins, MN to bring this to the stage in the spring.

Linda Andersen December 15, 2011 at 5:24 pm

Oh please enter me. I love Grace Lin’s books and illustrations.

How wonderful to find so many fans of Grace Lin’s books and art! Thanks to everyone who entered the drawing for a Grace Lin print. Our lucky winner this time around was Heather S. and her daughter, who is a huge Grace Lin fan in her own right. Congrats, Heather and family!
